What is CurseForge CoreĬurseForge Core is a new way for game developers to bring their games to the forefront of modding. Mods are in-game content that is created by independent creators, and adds a new layer of fun to games, often altering games so much that it creates brand new and exciting experiences within these games.Īny game that supports mods can be listed on CurseForge. The Flexible Backgrounds mod by ChrisJohnDigital allows players to select their background for flavor and then pick whichever tools, proficiencies, or skill sets they prefer.CurseForge is the home to your modding needs. Solasta: Crown of the Magister still allows this, but backgrounds are somewhat rigid and give players less freedom to customize. One way they are able to do this is by selecting a background that can help influence the kind of person their character is. Tabletop games have always been about giving players the freedom to choose exactly what they want their character to be. Keep in mind, though, that the game was not designed for these extra levels, so the mod doesn't always work as intended. The Level 20 mod by esquilo22 helps fix that problem by adding ten new levels and their associated abilities for all official classes in the game. The Level 20 mod also supports some of the modded classes as well. This means all the most powerful attacks and abilities from Dungeons & Dragons are entirely unattainable to players. One big downside to Solasta is that, despite having a very impressive collection of skills and spells for players to use, players can't upgrade their characters to level 20 like in most tabletop games. One allows the player to just skip the playable segments and still watch the cutscenes, and the other allows the player to skip the entire opening tavern segment except for the opening and ending cutscenes. This mod actually has two different settings as well. The Skip Tutorials mod by esquilo22 grants the ability to skip this tutorial entirely and get right into the action without sitting through exposition and being shown the controls again. The opening tutorial for Solasta is a great way to acquaint new players with the game, but it can really be a bore for those who have played through already. One grants them access to potion-making skills, another allows them to boost their weapons with their intelligence modifier, and the third gives them a few cantrips that can be used as bonus actions. The Tinkerer Class mod by ChrisJohnDigital introduces the class and three different subclasses that allow the player to use their powers in interesting ways. Their skills allow them to use magic to imbue items in their possession with magical abilities that can then be used in a number of different ways. Tinkerers are half physical attacker and half magic-user. The Tinkerer class is by far one of the more interesting classes that users have modded into the game so far.
